"Jeremy Sims from Sims Physical Therapy and Balance Center, LLC saved my knee and Christmas! November 18, 2022, I injured my knee. I first thought that it was an injury that I needed to simply "work through." The next week was Thanksgiving, and I had a lot of baking and cleaning to do, so I tried to ignore the issue thinking it would work itself out. It got much worse. I was having to take some pretty strong pain medicine to get any relief. By Monday, November 28, I finally was able to see a doctor. The clinic told me it was not a break and prescribed physical therapy to help alleviate the pain. Dr. Sims worked me in to his schedule for that very day and began working with me. The techniques used by Dr. Sims helped me to recover much faster than I thought possible. After the first session I could take over the counter pain medication and feel relief, and by the second session I didn't need pain medicines much at all. Dr. Sims told me how to rest and exercise outside of our sessions in ways that would promote healing. He explained everything and taught me so much during our time together that I had complete confidence in his suggestions, and he always made sure to ask if I had any questions before I left. I had been told by several that had suffered similar injury that I would have to have surgery to correct the problem with my knee, but Dr. Sims' prognosis was to regain full mobility without surgery. "After practicing primary care medicine for 40 years, my wife and I retired to Smithville, MS in 2020. Approximately 12 years ago, while living in Georgia, I injured my back and was referred for physical therapy. It was more of an assembly line approach with limited interaction with the therapist or the PT aid other than applying ice, receiving ultrasound treatments, along with treatments with a TENS unit. I discontinued therapy because those modalities could be done at home at a significant savings of time and money.
